My intended audience for my visual essay would be women who feel as though their experiences are not noticed or important also to men to inform them of this issue. A primary characteristic of my audience would be open mindedness. I am making a drawing therefore they would need to be into art and the expression that art can bring as well as the awareness that art can spread. I want my audience of women to understand that they are seen and to not let what is said to them control them or make them view themselves in a different way. I want my audience of men to understand what women go through with misogony. I also want them  to think about what they do or say that makes women uncomfortable and to think about what misogynistic behaviors and thoughts they need to change. I also want them to feel for the women that go through this because I feel like so many men who aren’t empathetic about this topic or care enough to change their behaviors. I think the genres that would make my topic more accessable and attractive to my audience would be a drawing or an article. I think to talk about this issue it’s better to be informative and spread awareness through writing and visually through drawing.  Though also using videos of women speaking of their experiences can be very effective.
